1) Removed modern information pertaining to descendant from the category description (John B. Edwards category) and added only his service record as noted in roster and muster roll.
2) Created a "LISTING" for descendant information within John B. Edwards category according to guidelines. byBrett Mitchell, July 22, 2008
Listing changes made by moderator:
1) Added cemetery address and map information. 2) Changed the title to reflect guidelines (Grave: John B. Edwards. 3) This listing was not inside of John B. Edwards category. Moderator moved the listing so it was inside of his category. Category changes: 1) Changed John B. Edwards description to reflect his service record as stated by guidelines. 2) Added a descendant listing. byBrett Mitchell, July 6, 2008
Note: Created a category for Charles C Dickinson in the Regimental Band category and moved listing to his category.
2) Delineated listing name to reflect burial information. Usually, if a grave image is submitted with the listing the title would be "Grave: Soldier's Name". I just called it "Burial". The listing title allows for future researchers to easily find the submission. ("Type of Listing: Soldiers Name") 3) All edits by moderators do not change the posting credit so the submitters name "Bill Christen" still is active. Submitter can also edit postings and add information as warranted. byBrett Mitchell, July 5, 2008 1 of 1 people find this question helpful
Very good and nice document. I fixed the location of the listing so it appears in Jacob's category instead of the main 13th OVI: 3 months category. In the future, just make sure you are inside of the correct category PRIOR to submitting. SO in other words, you should have been in the category titled "Jacob William Brown" that you created PRIOR to pressing the "Add Listing" button. You're learning;)
Also, if you make this error again simply click the EDIT button next to the listing name and use the manage categories feature at the top of the add listing page to change categories. (be sure to press the "update" button prior to submitting). Official Response I am at a loss as to where I should enter things. I also have a few items that I'm not sure what they are. One possibly might be my great-grandpa's discharge papers, but it's not clearly stated. Can you put things like that under a misc. name and then if you or someone else knows what they are, you can correct the name? byBrett Mitchell, June 29, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, June 29, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, June 11, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, June 3, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, June 3, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, April 3, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, April 3, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, April 3, 2008
1)Soldier was located out of his category. I moved into his correct category.
2) Renamed listing to reflect type. (Image) Also, please note: Rank/Muster information can be submitted to the category's description. When creating the soldiers category: 1) Use the title as the soldier's name (You have this correct) 2) Use the description field for rank/muster/etc. byBrett Mitchell, April 3, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, April 2, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, April 2, 2008 byBrett Mitchell, April 2, 2008 Results 1 - 20 of 22
