Enlisted as Private on 11 August 1862 at the age of 23. Appointed Corporal on 1 March 1863. Captured at Snaggy Point, Louisiana on 3 May 1864. Mustered Out at Camp Chase, Ohio on 19 July 1865 By Order War Department.
