Emerson Opdycke Post # 436Bladensburg OH. Chartered August 23 1884. Named in honor of Brigadier General Emerson Opdycke, a citizen soldier who rose through the ranks as a Private in the 41st Ohio Volunteer Infantry to regimental command of the 125th OVI. By the wars end he was in command of the 1st brigade of the 2nd division, 4th Army Corps. Categories
