Columbus OH. Chartered Jan 17 1881. Named in honor of Colonel James Culbertson McCoy of the 54th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He served with distinction as an Aide-de-Camp to General William T. Sherman from March 14 1862 to the Colonels death May 23 1875.
