Enlisted as Corporal on 6 August 1862 at the age of 29. Promoted 2nd Lieutenant (But Not Mustered) on 28 April 1863. Discharged on 17 April 1865 to accept Promotion to 2nd Lieutenant in Omaha Scouts. Mustered Out on 16 July 1866. Additional Unit: Omaha Scouts, Nebraska Infantry
