Enlisted as a Private at age 22 on 7/24/63. On 7/31/63 he mustered into Company H, 88th Ohio Infantry Mustered Out on 7/3/65 at Camp Chase, OH. Following the war, Chambers was a member of the Thomas Espy, GAR Post in Carnegie, PA.
