Greetings all! I have a request from all current moderators, members, and future site visitors in an effort to compile the most accurate information possible. Instead of adding soldier's to the archive (unless necessary in order to add an item and unless you just feel like it) I am asking anyone and everyone for some help examining rosters for various regiments that I will list in the forum as noted below. Here is how you can assure the utmost accuracy on this site and help us to continue moving forward to the next step:
1) In the forum (click "Forum Categories" on the left menu) you will see "Ohio Civil War Rosters" under the Latest News category. This thread will show you which rosters are complete. (Note: If you are a moderator and don't see your roster yet don't worry. I will post them as I continue through to each branch..artillery..infantry...etc)
2)I need as many eyes and editors as I can to go over the completed rosters. If you see a mistake, duplication, misspelling don't use the "EDIT" button (if you have permissions to see that button). Instead, compile a list of mistakes in your computer's notepad application.
3) After you have a list of mistakes compiled and you have completed the accuracy check add an listing (once in the roster category click "ADD ITEM"

title "ACCURACY CHECK". Be sure to note the unit in the listing item. Use the description field to copy and paste the "mistake" list that you compiled.
4) The more "Accuracy Check" listings the better. I will then use the backend system to correct the errors.
5)If you already have access to an "official" roster that is great! However, if you do not then check on Google Books or something like this. for example, they do have a digitized Official Roster for the Ohio Artillery. I will place a link to the digitized roster in the roster completion forum.
